pH Control: Liquid Formulation for Water pH Reduction

pH Control is a liquid formulation designed to lower the pH of high-alkalinity water used in agricultural applications. It also incorporates properties of a sticker and spreader to improve the surface contact of foliar sprays. pH Control is intended for use within the vegetative growth phase of crops.

Composition

  • Phosphorus (P): 18%

Key Benefits

pH Control combines four distinct functions in one formulation:

  • pH Reduction: Chemically lowers the pH level of water. This process is critical in regions with alkaline water sources, as a lower pH can improve the solubility and availability of certain plant nutrients in a solution.
  • Sticking Agent: Functions as an adjuvant, increasing the adhesion of spray solutions to plant leaf surfaces. This can reduce the potential for runoff.
  • Spreading Agent: Reduces the surface tension of water droplets, resulting in uniform distribution of the spray solution across the treated surface area.
  • Nutrient Content: The formulation includes 18% Phosphorus (P), an essential macronutrient for plant metabolic processes, including energy transfer and root development.

Water pH in Egypt

Irrigation water in many parts of Egypt has a naturally high pH (alkaline). In such conditions, the availability of essential micronutrients and phosphorus can be chemically limited, even when present in the water or soil. Using a pH-reducing agent in the spray tank creates a more favorable chemical environment for nutrient uptake through the leaves. This ensures that other tank-mixed nutritional and protection products can function as intended.

Application Guidelines

For correct dosage, use the colorimetric scale provided on the product label.

  1. Initial Dosage: Add 100 ml of pH Control to 200 liters of water in the spray tank. pH Control should be added to the tank water before other agricultural chemicals.
  2. Mix and Observe: Agitate the solution. The water will change color, indicating the pH level.
  3. Adjust as Needed: Compare the solution’s color to the indicator scale. If needed, add small, incremental amounts of pH Control, mixing after each addition, until the color corresponds to the target pH for your application.

Note: When tank-mixing with other products for the first time, it is advisable to conduct a small-scale jar test to confirm physical compatibility..
