Application Guidelines
For optimal results, apply Sulfuric Magic through the irrigation system (fertigation).

Mixing & Compatibility Precautions
CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: Read carefully before handling or mixing. Improper mixing can lead to violent reactions, the release of toxic gases, and damage to equipment.
The chemical reactivity of Sulfuric Magic requires strict adherence to handling and mixing protocols. Never mix this product with other chemicals unless compatibility is certain.
The Golden Rule of Dilution: Add Acid to Water
When diluting, follow this procedure without exception:
- Start with a large volume of water in an acid-resistant tank.
- ALWAYS add Sulfuric Magic slowly to the water while agitating or stirring the mixture.
- NEVER add water to the concentrated acid. Adding water to acid can generate intense heat, causing the solution to boil and splash dangerous, corrosive material.
Known Incompatibilities: DO NOT MIX
To prevent hazardous reactions and equipment failure, DO NOT mix Sulfuric Magic directly with the following:
- Fertilizers Containing Calcium (e.g., Calcium Nitrate): This will cause an immediate reaction that forms insoluble Calcium Sulfate (Gypsum). This precipitate will clog irrigation lines, filters, and emitters, leading to system failure.
- Fertilizers Containing Nitrates (e.g., Potassium Nitrate, Ammonium Nitrate): Mixing concentrated sulfuric acid with nitrate salts can produce nitric acid, which can create toxic and potentially explosive nitrogen oxide gases. This is a dangerous combination.
- Chlorine-Based Products (e.g., Sodium Hypochlorite/Bleach): Mixing acid with chlorine-based products will rapidly release toxic chlorine gas, posing a severe respiratory hazard.
- Strong Alkaline Products (Bases): Do not mix with products like potassium hydroxide or caustic soda. This will cause a violent, exothermic neutralization reaction.
- Pesticides, Fungicides, and Herbicides: Assume incompatibility. The high acidity will likely degrade the active ingredients of these chemicals, rendering them ineffective and potentially creating unknown hazardous compounds.
Best Practices for Application
To prevent hazardous reactions and equipment failure, DO NOT mix Sulfuric Magic directly with the following:
- Jar Test: Before mixing with any other product not on the incompatibility list, always perform a small-scale “jar test” to confirm compatibility. Mix the products in the same ratio you plan to use in a clear glass jar and observe for signs of incompatibility, such as precipitation (the formation of solids), heat generation, or gas release.
- Separate Injection: The safest method for fertigation is to use separate injection points and timings for acids and other fertilizers. Do not inject Sulfuric Magic 98% and other fertilizers into the main irrigation line at the same time.
- Equipment Compatibility: Ensure all tanks, pumps, injectors, and fittings that come into contact with the concentrated or diluted acid are made from acid-resistant materials.
- Recommended: Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), PVC, Teflon (PTFE), and 316 Stainless Steel.
- Avoid: Galvanized steel, carbon steel, iron, brass, and bronze, as they will corrode rapidly and may produce flammable hydrogen gas.

Safety and Handling
